STEPS:

1.  Click the Trial screen from the Client Information folder on the Site Plan.   View screen shot.
2.  Enter the Pre-Trial Conference Date and Time, if applicable, in the appropriate fields.   View screen shot.
3.  Enter the date of the Trial in the appropriate fields.  View screen shot.

4.   Enter the Choice Setting in the appropriate field.   View screen shot.

5.  If there is a Summary Judgment, check the appropriate box for plaintiff or defendant and include the date in the date field.   View screen shot.
6.  Enter any case preparation notes in the Trial Notes field.   View screen shot.
7.  Under the Trial Pleadings section, enter the pleading item in the Item field, and its respective due date. Once a due date for the pleading is entered, it causes tickler prompts to appear on the Daily Tickler and Daily Worksheet 5 days prior to their due date.  The due date is listed on the weekly calendar. Check the Completed box when the individual pleading has been completed.  View screen shot.
8. To add additional pleadings, click the Add Item button and enter the desired pleading and due date.  View screen shot.
9. To delete a pleading, place your cursor in the Item field of the pleading to be deleted and click the Delete Item button.  You will be prompted to confirm your actions.  View screen shot.
10. The trial date, time, client name, court name, judge, pre- trial conference date, and trial choice setting are then listed on the Trial/ADR Calendar report where all upcoming trials can be viewed and appropriate resources allocated.  View screen shot.
11. At a pre-deterimined number of days prior to the trial date, the following ticklers will appear on the Daily Tickler and Daily Worksheet:
  • At 120 days prior to the trial, a tickler asks if you wish to send a letter to the Witness to update contact information.  If yes, a tickler prompts you to send the WITCONT3, witness contact letter.
  • At 35 days prior to the trial, a tickler asks if all outside information for the trial has been received.  If no, complete the Discovery process.
  • At 20 days prior to the trial, a tickler prompts you to send the WITNESS letter informing the witness of the upcoming trial.
  • At 5 days prior to the trial, the tickler prompts you to send witness letter, WITNESS2 and prepare Subpoenas.
  • At 5 days prior to the trial, the tickler asks if you've received the Jury Questionnaires.  If no, call the court to obtain the questionnaires.
