| 1. Select the Evidence screen from the Client Information folder on the Site Plan. After meeting with the client and entering the initial contact information, you will need to enter any evidence the client has, but has yet to give you. Note: The Evidence screen is used for listing client evidence, investigators, and requesting police reports. Witness statements are handled under the Witness screen. View screen shot. |
| 2. Ensure that the desired client is showing in the Client Header screen. |
3. TO ADD CLIENT EVIDENCE: Click the Add New button on the Client tab in the Evidence screen. View screen shot. |
| 4. Enter the piece of evidence in the Item field. View screen shot. |
| 5. Repeat these steps to add additional pieces of evidence. |
| 6. Use the Previous and Next navigation buttons to move between records. View screen shot. |
| 7. As the pieces of evidence are received, check the Received box. View screen shot. |
| 8. To delete a piece of evidence, place your cursor in the Item field of the evidence to be deleted, and click the Delete button. You will be prompted for confirmation of your actions. View screen shot. |
| 9. The Daily Tickler will prompt you at a pre-determined number of days, currently set to 15 days after the RETAINTX letter is sent, to send the EVIDLTR1 to the client requesting any evidence you have not received to this point. |
| 10. If you have not received evidence after a pre-determined number of days, currently set to 15, you will be asked if you want to send another request for evidence to the client. This time you will send the EVIDLTR2. |
| 11. The items from the Evidence screen are automatically transferred to the RETAINTX, EVIDLTR1, EVIDLTR2, and BLANKCLI letters until they are checked as having been received. |
| 12. TO ADD INVESTIGATOR: Click the Investigator tab on the Evidence screen. Click Add New to select investigator (this pulls from Investigator Master List.) |
| 13. Repeat these steps to add additional investigators. |
| 14. Use the Previous and Next navigation buttons to move between records. |
| 15. TO ENTER POLICE STATION FROM WHICH YOU WANT A REPORT: Open the Police tab on the Evidence screen. Select a police station from the drop down (This pulls from the Police Master List). A tickler will prompt production of the document requesting police report. |
